Dr. Marie-France Jones is the Chair of University Studies and Environmental Technology and an environmental science instructor at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, Alberta. She specializes in geophysical science, teaching courses in soil science, geotechnical engineering, and land reclamation. She also teaches an introductory level GIS course, getting students into the world of remote sensing and mapping technology.

- Modeling forest hydrology, water quality, and nutrient flows in watersheds across Canada using STELLA-based computer modeling software.
- Lead research focused on soil trafficability – the effects heavy machinery operation on soils in New Brunswick. Research focused on creating predictive trafficability maps using continuous soils maps and wet-areas-mapping on forest soils. Maps developed using R, STELLA, and ArcGIS programs.
